World Health Day 2024

The Department of Community Medicine, in collaboration with Medical Education, organized a successful event to commemorate World Health Day. This year’s theme, “My health, my right,” resonated deeply with the audience.

The esteemed Chief Guest, Associate Professor Dr. Sumera Riaz, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, graced the occasion with her presence. Prof. Dr. Humayun Suqrat, HOD Community Medicine, delivered a thought-provoking address, emphasizing the significance of the theme.

A skit competition was held, showcasing the creativity and talent of the 4th-year MBBS students. The judges, comprising Prof. Dr. Masood Javed (Medicine), Prof. Dr. Kasif Baig (HOD Pathology), and the Chief Guest, had a challenging task selecting the winners. The results were:

– 1st position: “Violence against Healthcare Workers” (Group 3)
– 2nd position: “3 Delays Model of Maternal Mortality” (Group 2)
– 3rd position: “Poliomyelitis” (Group 6)

Principal AFMDC, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed, addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of recognizing the rights of every individual. The Chief Guest also shared her thoughts, praising the students for their outstanding performances.

The event concluded with a tea reception, providing a wonderful opportunity for networking and celebration.
