World Physical Therapy Day 2025 Observed at AFMDC
Aziz Fatimah Medical & Dental College (AFMDC) successfully observed World Physical Therapy Day 2025 with a one-day hands-on workshop on the theme:
“Strong Childhood Foundation Leads to Resilient Older Adults.”
The event featured an insightful session by Prof. Dr. Shoaib Waqas, Dean, Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences Lahore, University of Biological & Applied Sciences (a project of LMDC), and Consultant Pediatric Physical Therapist at National Hospital & Medical Center – DHA Lahore, who served as the distinguished guest speaker. He emphasized the importance of physical therapy interventions from an early age to ensure healthier ageing and a better quality of life in later years.
As part of the commemoration, students of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) presented a specially prepared video presentations highlighting the significance of physical therapy from early childhood to adulthood, emphasizing its role in prevention and rehabilitation. In addition, faculty members and students delivered informative presentations supported by real-time examples, which helped the audience understand the practical applications of physiotherapy in daily life.
Towards the conclusion of the program, the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed addressed the audience, appreciating the efforts of the Department of Physical Therapy in organizing the event and encouraging students to continue their dedication towards advancing healthcare and rehabilitation sciences.
The event was attended by faculty, students, and healthcare professionals who actively participated in the discussions and activities, making the day a meaningful contribution to healthcare awareness.
