Introduction
The Department of Pathology at our medical college is a vital academic and diagnostic unit, delivering high-quality teaching, training, and laboratory services. With a focus on excellence and innovation, the department serves undergraduate MBBS students, allied health sciences, and nursing students. It also manages a state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratory and fully equipped blood bank. Our department plays a pivotal role in training future healthcare professionals and supporting clinical decision-making through timely diagnostics.
Our professionals are actively involved in facilitating undergraduate practical sessions, supporting diagnostic work, and maintaining the smooth functioning of laboratory services. Diagnostic Services
Our state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratory is equipped with modern instruments from Roche, Sysmex, and other global leaders. The department offers comprehensive services in:
- Hematology
- Histopathology
- Microbiology
- Clinical Chemistry
The pathology department also manages the hospital blood bank, which features automated screening for transfusion-transmitted infections. Every donor undergoes complete screening, ensuring safe and reliable blood transfusions.
Research Activities
Our faculty is actively engaged in research across various pathology domains:
- Cancer Pathology – Investigating molecular markers for early detection and targeted therapy.
- Hematological Disorders – Studying the pathogenesis and treatment responses in blood diseases.
- Infectious Diseases – Monitoring antimicrobial resistance patterns and emerging pathogens.
- Transfusion Medicine – Enhancing blood safety protocols and donor screening methods.

Allied Health Education
In addition to undergraduate MBBS teaching, our department actively educates Allied Health Sciences (MLT, Nutrition, IT, OT, DPT) and Nursing students. We also run a BS in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program to prepare skilled laboratory professionals through hands-on training and modern diagnostic techniques. Since the start of the program 2022 we have the honor of achieving almost 100 % result of pathology in last three years.

Academic Excellence
We are recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) for our FCPS training in Histopathology. Our program, ongoing since the past year, has positioned us as pioneers—the first private medical college in Faisalabad to offer this training. The department teaches more than 150 MBBS students each year and supports BS MLT, Nursing, and Allied Health students.
Our academic achievements in last three years have been remarkable throughout all medical colleges of Punjab. We have the pride of 100 % result in both 3rd year and 4th year MBBS in the subject of pathology, crediting to this achievement is our number of distinctions with highest ever record of 40 distinctions in 2023 session followed by 23 distinctions in both 3rd year and 4th year MBBS in 2024.
