The Department of Community Medicine, in collaboration with the Aziz Fatima Research Society, organized an engaging one-day panel discussion on the Ethical and Unethical Aspects of AI in Medical Research.
The panel brought together experts from diverse fields to explore the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medical research and the ethical challenges it presents. The distinguished panelists included:

• Dr. Muniam Tahir – Senior Demonstrator, Pathology, AFMDC
• Dr. Bilal Khalid – Demonstrator, Community Medicine, AFMDC
• Mr. Muhammad Sarmad – Data Analyst, USA
• Mr. Bilal Naeem – Software Engineer and Systems Researcher, USA

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Uzma Sagheer, ensuring a balanced exploration of the benefits and risks AI presents in medical research. Topics ranged from the promise of AI in advancing healthcare innovations to concerns around data privacy, algorithmic bias, and informed consent.
The event provided valuable insights into the responsible use of AI, encouraging collaboration between healthcare professionals, researchers, and technologists to address ethical dilemmas while maximizing the potential of AI for medical advancement.
