White Coat Ceremony Of 6th Batch

White Coat Ceremony of 6th batch was held on 23rd January 2017 in AFMDC. The Chief Guest was Rana Sanaullah khan (Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs & Public Prosecution). The Guest of Honor was Prof. Dr. Sardar Muhammad Alfareed Zafar (Principal Punjab Medical College). The ceremony was started at 12:45 pm with Tilawat – e – Quran with translation. Hamd and Naat were recited by students of 3rd Year.

The welcome address was given by Mian Haseeb Ahmed (Executive Director Sitara Chemical Industries). He welcomed all the guests in the ceremony. He told that an admission in AFMDC has been made transparent and merit based. The merit of our college is increasing constantly by the years. Our main focus is on merit culture. The best faculty has been hired in addition to the provision of a spacious campus and state of the art diagnostic laboratory. He also told that our college is using best teaching methodologies for medical education. He addressed the students that by wearing white coat they have to become more responsible and will get their destination by the kind guidance and teaching of our faculty. He paid special thanks to Chief Guest Rana Sanaullah for sparing time and highlighted his contributions in development of Faisalabad especially express underpass, bypass and flyover along with his special interest in health and education department.

Then Principal Prof. Dr Qaiser Mehmood gave the introduction of college and hospital. He briefed that AFMDC is included in top medical colleges of Punjab which is also engaged in research related activities. He told that our college is best college by its infrastructure, auditorium, playgrounds, lecture halls, museums. He further added that we have one of the largest private hospital in Faisalabad. We have latest equipment and expert faculties in wards of Neurosurgery, Peads, Surgery, Ortho, ENT. We have state of the art laboratories with modern equipment. We have latest multislice CT with 3D quality fully automated labs for CT Scan, modern MRI of international level. We are preparing doctors for medical degree, character building, moral ethics and professionalism. He briefed that our college seats will be increased from 100 to 150 as we have already applied in PMDC. We will start BDS in our college in coming next years. He also told that we will provide 100% house jobs to our graduates in our teaching hospital. In hospital we have nearly 800 patients in OPD per day on Rs. 20 only. He wished good luck to new batch and congratulates the parents to achieve a milestone in life.

The Chief Guest started his speech by saying that doctors are Maseeha but not attending patients due to any reasons is opposite to word Maseeha. He highlighted the government policies and steps for improvement in the health department of Punjab. He also highlighted the environmental developments in the form of roads, horticulture and for prevention of the diseases as well. He appreciated the effort of Sitara group of Industries for contributing in medical education as well as providing modern health facilities to the public especially to low socio economic group. He said that Punjab government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is fully concentrating on the provision of best possible health amenities to the masses. He briefed that efforts are being made to provide the basic health facilities at the doorsteps of the people and for this purpose all government hospitals and basic health units are being upgraded. However the young doctors should also extend their full cooperation for delivering health facilities to public at their door steps and not only in big cities. He emphasized that Punjab government is also making efforts to improve the overall working conditions for the young doctors and in this connection Rs. 7 billion has been allocated for the doctor’s community.

Mian Imran Ghafoor (Chief Executive Officer Sitara Peroxide) offered vote of thanks and hoped that the quality of education in this institution will be further improved so that the passed out graduates could gain a prominent position in national and international competitions. He appreciated the organizing committee and administration for conducting such a nice white coat ceremony.

Later, Mian Haseeb Ahmed along with Mian Imran Ghafoor presented a memento of the college to Chief Guest and Guest of Honor. Lunch was served to all the participants.
